Half-day Bookkeeper / Hospitality Administrator

Job Description

A real estate holding company with a guesthouse operating in the Southern Suburbs is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented half-day Bookkeeper / Administrator to manage financial records, property administration, procurement, and guest house operations. This is a 3 month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities:

Property & Guest House Administration

  • Oversee the administration of multiple residential properties remotely.
  • Manage bookings and guest communication for the guest house, with some on-site presence.
  • Ensure seamless check-ins and check-outs, addressing guest inquiries and concerns.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

  • Order consumables and ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Liaise with contractors for repairs and maintenance.
  • Obtain and compare quotes for goods and services.

Bookkeeping & Financial Administration

  • Reconcile property bookings and financial transactions.
  • Maintain schedules and reports on income and expenditure.
  • Allocate the cash book and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

Requirements

  • Based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town for easy access to on-site responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to validate financial records and correct errors.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and accounting software.
  • Experience handling lease administration and property-related financial records.
  • Experienced in bookkeeping, financial administration, or property management would be advantageous.
  • Proactive, independent, and able to take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
  • Hospitality or property industry experience would be ideal.
