Job Description
A storage, freight and logistics company is looking to appoint a Customer Service Agent to join their operations department. The role reports to the warehouse supervisor. The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the department in order to ensure smooth and efficient running of day-to-day activities in the office and provide superior customer service.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately operate the warehouse management system
• Check and produce accurate relevant documents timeously
• Capture all customer information for pre-advice etc
• Liaise with truck drivers, external customers and checkers
• Report any discrepancies and non-conformances to avoid incorrect or damaged inventories
• Comply with all required standards such as Occupational Health & Safety, Food standard HACCP, GMPs & Operational procedures (SOPs) etc.
Requirements
• Minimum qualification: Matric with additional Customer Service Agent course or related field
• 5 years’ experience in related field
• Operations planning experience
• Experience in imports and exports
• Warehouse management system experience – good understanding of stock takes and warehouse locations
• Proven computer skills
• Shipping and freight environment experience advantageous
• Good communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to work weekends and overtime from time to time
• Ability to work under pressure.
